Incredible Human Journey 3/5 Europe (BBC)

Please Subscribe To The Evolution Documentary YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com Broadcast (2010) When our species first arrived in Europe, the peak of the Ice Age was approaching and the continent was already crawling with a rival: stronger, at home in the cold and even (contrary to the popular image) brainier than us. So how did the European pioneers survive first the Neanderthals and then the deep freeze as they pushed across the continent? Alice Roberts reconstructs the head of the ‘first European’ to come face to face with one of our ancestors; she discovers how art became crucial for survival in the face of Neanderthal competition; and what happened to change the skin colour of these European pioneers. Finally, spectacular new finds on the edge of Europe suggest that the first known temples may have been a spark for a huge revolution in our ancestors’ way of life — agriculture. There are seven billion humans on Earth, spread across the whole planet. Scientific evidence suggests that most of us can trace our origins to one tiny group of people who left Africa around 70000 years ago. In this five-part series, Dr Alice Roberts follows the archaeological and genetic footprints of our ancient ancestors to find out how their journeys transformed our species into the humans we are today, and how Homo Sapiens came to dominate the planet. How did we get here? Following a trail of clues from the latest scientific research. Dr Alice Roberts re-traces the greatest ever journey

Haha it’s okay. It would be nice to know where everyone and everything came from, but at the same time, our world would be much less mysterious and interesting if we knew everything.

Sorry LOL, i didn’t mean to imply that you didn’t know, I’m just saying it is a puzzle as to where our ancestors picked up this DNA because when the OOA migrators left Africa across the Red Sea and landed on the Arabian Peninsula there were no Neanderthals in that region? So where exactly did this interbreeding take place?

so the ancestors of adolph hitler and the nazi aryan super humans first were monkeys, then black men, then short hairy neanderthal, that explains a lot.

If I could put it better- there is a greater genetic difference between two African tribes than there is between ALL non African people put together! Europeans and Japanese for example are closer genetically to each other than a South African and A West African.

  6. greeny202a says:

Of course! They are talking about recent markers. But you do realize that ALL Homo Sapiens Sapiens share 99.7% of our DNA with Neanderthal? we have the same common ancestor, Homo Heidelbergensis 600,000 years ago? All non Africans are descended from the same small group of L3 mtDNA about 85,000 years ago?.

I believe they’re talking about a specific sequence of DNA that we derived from the Neanderthals.

It is now thought that indigenous North Africans also carry the Neanderthal markers, perhaps it was in North Africa where the interbreeding took place (if at all). ALL humans of course share 99.7% of our DNA with Neanderthals as we share a common ancestor with them Homo Heidelbergensis 600,000 years ago.

im sure modern humans stole neanderthal technology and used it against them…and here we are now..just like the modern white man of the last 500 years…stealing everyone else’s shit.

We have Neanderthal DNA which was found in 2010, In this documentary they say we don’t have Neanderthal DNA. I guess its made in 2007-8

Europeans invaded a lot of country and did some desperate fucked up shit. I don’t know how that facachta statement has Any relevance. If fact it show how brutal those people were as a warning not to go down that hatemongering, empirical way of life. What is you point?

Fucking moron, i suggest you to watch the dark ages documentary to see how barbaric your european ancestors were nothing to do with religion, also the reason why modern science and technology is available to you is because europeans had to invade, kill and wipe out entire races of people so they can step and settle in new lands, with stolen tech and now new stolen resources but otherwise you’d still be carrying a piece of wood and metal looking for rats to eat back in europe.

When people tell me I’m going to hell for believing evidence from scientists I get agitated. It’s just religion has destroyed higher thinking for so long such as the dark ages.. 1000 years of a ban on all science and creative thinking. But your right I shouldn’t of bit your head off, I apologize

Besides just a taboo phrase. The ones that are harmfull mutations don’t make. Natural selection. Even through your whole bullshit response you AAGAIN disregarded what I was saying. How do you account for DNA, fossils, and carbon dating? It’s the work of the devel, lol craw out of your trailer in bum fuck nowhere and join reality!
